Tuesday May 27th 2025 / 13:00 - 16:00

ElaadNL Live event

ElaadNL invites you to a dedicated cybersecurity event on Tuesday May 27. Join us for an afternoon of expert insights into the evolving cybersecurity landscape of EV charging infrastructure.
The event will feature real-world findings from ElaadNL’s cybersecurity testing of charging stations, discussions on the latest and upcoming requirements, regulations, and collaborative initiatives aimed at enhancing cybersecurity in the EV sector. Besides that, there is a live hacking demonstration showing how charging stations could be attacked.

when: Tuesday May 27 – 13:00 – 16:00h

where: ElaadNL at IPKW (Industry Park Kleefse Waard), Westervoortsedijk 173, Arnhem

Program

12:15 – Reception and lunch

13:00 – Welcome – Harm van den Brink (ElaadNL)

13:15 – The state of cyber security in charging infrastructure – Wilco van Beijnum (ElaadNL)
ElaadNL tests EV charging stations for cybersecurity vulnerabilities. In this talk, we will share the most common security issues we encounter in the field and offer practical recommendations for manufacturers and charge point operators (CPOs) to strengthen the cybersecurity of charging stations and their supporting infrastructure.

13:45 – ElaadNL/ENCS requirements and IEC 62443 – Maarten Hoeve (ENCS)
ENCS recently released an updated version of the ElaadNL/ENCS security requirements for EV charging infrastructure, aligned with the IEC 62443 standard. This session will highlight the key changes and show how the requirements help mitigate common vulnerabilities and enhance overall cybersecurity.

14:15 – Break

14:45 – EVC ISAC – Bruno van Hoek (ElaadNL)
This session introduces the Electric Vehicle Charging Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EVC ISAC), its role in facilitating collaboration between stakeholders, and how it helps improve the cybersecurity of the EV charging ecosystem.

15:00 –  NAL and upcoming EU cybersecurity regulations – Bart Thomasse (RDI)
This presentation will provide an overview of the National Agenda Charging Infrastructure (NAL) and upcoming EU cybersecurity regulations. We’ll discuss how these initiatives aim to improve the security posture of EV charging infrastructure across Europe.

15:15 – Live hacking demo – Wilco van Beijnum & Harm van den Brink (ElaadNL)
In this live demonstration, we’ll showcase part of the methodology used during our cybersecurity assessments of EV charging stations. Step by step, we’ll reveal how low-level access can lead to deeper system compromise—and why securing every layer of the system matters.

15:30 – Networking drinks
