Brief recap of the Residential Flexibility Test Event and Conference (12 February 2026)

On 12 February, ElaadNL hosted the first Residential Flexibility Test Event at the Testlab in Arnhem. During this day, manufacturers, developers, and other stakeholders came together to test their smart energy control solutions in a real-world setting. The event focused on improving interoperability between Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) and Flexible Energy Intensive Devices (FEIDs), such as EV chargers, heat pumps, and batteries, within a shared, open testing environment.

Participants had the opportunity to compare their hardware and software with others and learn from each other’s experiences. At the same time, presentations and discussion sessions provided insights into trends, standards, and technical developments that can further accelerate the energy transition and residential flexibility.

Part of the day included a conference featuring speakers who addressed topics such as grid congestion, protocols, and open-source developments.

See below the photos from this inspiring day.
