Electric freight transport places new demands on vehicles, charging infrastructure and the energy system. To further scale up zero-emission freight transport, technical insights from real-world practice are essential. That is why ElaadNL and Rijkswaterstaat are jointly organising TruckZero: a test event where manufacturers of electric trucks and DC charging infrastructure test interoperability, communication and charging situations in a neutral environment. In other words: can every truck charge reliably at different chargers, under realistic conditions?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Real-world testing provides valuable insights into the interaction between vehicles and charging infrastructure and helps identify where technical bottlenecks may arise. While charging for passenger mobility has developed steadily over the past 15 years, the development of heavy-duty electric transport is still at a relatively early stage.
